Of course

“ Of course ” is very common expression that has a few meanings

1. “ This idea is not surprising. I expected it.”
Q:  Do you like travelling to foreign countries?
A:  Absolutely. Of course, it can be a little expensive.

2. “ Definitely! ”
Q: Are you coming to Jill’s wedding?
A: Of course. I wouldn’t miss it!

3. “ I understand/agree ”
A:  Sometimes I get homesick.
B:  Of course. Everyone does.

A:  It’s raining heavily. I think we should take a taxi.
B:   Yes. Of course.

“ Of course ”はいくつかの意味を持ち、とてもよく使われる表現です。

1.  “ 特に驚くような考えでなく、すでに想定していること。“
Q:　「海外旅行は好きですか？」
A:　「もちろんです。ただ高くつきますけどね。」

2.　“まったくそのとおり！”
Q:  「ジルの結婚式には行きますか？」
A:  「もちろん行きます。逃すわけにはいきません！」

3. “ 理解／同意 ”
A:  「時々私はホームシックになります。」
B:   「そうですよね。誰だってなりますよ。」

A:  「ものすごく雨が降っています。タクシーを捕まえる方がいいでしょう。」
B:  「そうですね。」
