Inside out, back to front

Have you ever put a t-shirt or sweater on incorrectly? Yes, it’s embarrassing when this happens, and you probably appreciate someone discretely telling you. In English we use a pair of opposite words to describe this situation.

For example: Um, I think your shirt is inside out. The tag at the back is showing.
No wonder I wasn’t comfortable. My sweater was on back to front.

A similar pair is “upside down”. Obviously this is not going to be used to talk about clothing but will come in handy in many other situations.

例: あの、あなたのTシャツ裏表じゃないですか?後ろからタグが見えていますよ。
