The most important thing to learn when preparing for Task 2 in the Writing section of the IELTS exam is the correct essay structure. Test markers are looking for a well-organized essay that follows a logical structure. Simply put, if your essay does not have a clear structure, you won’t get a high score!
In general, you will need to write a 4 (or 5) paragraph essay. The overall structure looks something like this:
Introduction
Body Paragraph 1
Body Paragraph 2
(For a 5-paragraph essay, add a 3rd body paragraph)
